WildWind was born out of a deeply-rooted love for music, life on the road, and the camaraderie that can only be experienced on stage between likeminded musicians with a common goal. While the name may be new, the members of WildWind have been making music together for nearly a decade. Influences stretch from classic country to modern rock, from bluegrass to gospel quartet and Motown harmonies. If you go to a WildWind concert, expect to hear some Willie Nelson, Elton John, Doobie Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lumineers, George Straight, and more than a few originals.
Founder and frontman Luke Lautaret, a multi-instrumentalist with over two decades of stage experience behind him, has spent years honing his craft and brings that experience and professionalism to WildWind. With a wide range and unique sound, Luke’s raspy soulful voice has been a recognizable and welcome feature on stages and radio stations all over the Pacific Northwest for over a decade. His experience in the music business extends beyond performing, to that of a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, booking agent, and promoter. Stephany Novak also sings lead vocals, bringing an energetic, feisty, romantic and sultry flavor to the band. Performing as a duo all the way up to a full seven-piece band (or anything in between) Luke & Stephany provide the backbone for a sound that is both fresh and exciting, yet uniquely familiar.
The musicians of WildWind, each seasoned professional with years of experience under their own belts, make up a band that features multiple lead singers, fiddle, drums, percussion, guitars, saxophone, and perfectly tight 3 & 4-part harmony vocals. Don’t be surprised to see a ukulele, mandolin, banjo, or harmonica make an appearance, either. Their sound is both huge and intimate, switching seamlessly between rocking up-tempo dance tunes to softer, poignant acoustic songs that move your heartstrings. If you are hoping to be entertained, you’d be hard-pressed to do better than spending an evening with WildWind.
The WildWind sound is familiar yet original, with the members effortlessly putting their own spin on classic covers. Their repertoire and set list easily reach into the hundreds of songs.
